As a key functional component of the evaporative emission control system of gasoline and hybrid vehicles,
the carbon canister adsorbs fuel vapor (hydrocarbon emissions) generated in the fuel tank with activated carbon to prevent it from escaping into the air,
and then purges the adsorbed fuel vapor to re-combust during engine running.
